Cedars Edge Gallery proudly displays the artwork of artist and owner - Barb Torke. Barb is a very accomplished artist in many mediums and her artwork definetely reflects the fun, joyful spirit of the artist. Barb also displays selected artwork of other area artists. The gallery features paintings, custom jewelry, custom clothing, and a very full range of art supplies. In addition, many rewarding classes are offered for the artist just developing their artistic skills. Resolved:
January classes
Wednesdays-open from 11- 4.
Class: 1p.m.- 3 p.m.-Dye Practices. Scarves, silk and tie, any dying for any reason. $15 a day the first two weeks of January 6 and 13. More if the second two weeks also optional.
Thursdays- open from 10-5.
Class: 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.-Collage. paper, fabric and scrap mixing it up to create a series. It may wind up to be a series of two, but none the less, having a direction will make this a continuous project. We'll create our own paper, use found papers, find papers, and stamp, paint and print to create works of art. $15 a day four weeks in January starting January 7, 14, 21, 28.
Thursdays- open from 10-5
Class: 1:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.- Watercolor. Other media are welcomed but the demos will be in watercolor. $15 a day for the four weeks in January starting January 7, 14,21, 28.
Fridays- open from 10-5
Class: 1:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.- Pastel or Oil. other media is welcome, but demos and assignments are based on pastel and oil painting, i.e. opaque. $15 a day for the four weeks of January starting with January 8, 15, 22, 29.
In February and March a two week session the 3rd and the 10th of each month Art and the Computer. 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Bring your laptop and a way to imort yur pictures from your comera (or memory stick, or photos, and learn how to do the basics of picture storage and organization, emailing and attaching, cleaning up and cropping (presentation) of photos, and the very basics of digital photo control. You need Photosho Elements or CorelDraw -This class will make it easy to make your computer help you and save you time by tricks and tips. This is most basic, and hopefully non-intimidating.
